F175
Yamaha’s popular and proven range of F175 Digital and Mechanical Control outboards now feature a newly designed look and integrated steering, taking these engines to the next level when it comes to power, reliability and control.
The Integrated Hydraulic Steering system is housed in a neat, sealed cylinder unit, which is built into the transom bracket of the engine, rather than being a third-party bolt-on component. This results in a simple and clean rigging set-up, and an uncluttered bilge and transom area, while exposing less components to the elements for improved long-term durability and reliability.
This new range of four-cylinder integrated steering models are ideal for all applications, including new boat packages, existing boat repowers and multi engine set-ups.
The modernised F175 outboards bring a new level of delight to boating.
Technical Specification
Yamaha Outboard Tech Yamaha offers a range of rigging options to suit every boat. Check out the full suite of controls, gauges, switches, props and other technologies, plus outboard performance data.
Direct Ignition The direct ignition system, with plug cap and ignition coil, provides higher reliability and increased performance.
Electronic Throttle Valve The electronic throttle valve provides sure and more precise valve opening and closing according to each engine temperature and atmospheric condition. This system works in tune with the fuel injection and ignition systems, to deliver incredible response and exceptional fuel economy.
High Output Alternator This alternator delivers more power: 50 amps at wide open throttle, producing a full 22 amps at only 600 rpm which means there is sufficient output to keep charging the battery even at low RPM.
Offset Crankshaft The crankshaft design is offset 10mm from the centre of cylinder for more efficient transfer of power to the crankshaft.
One-Touch Start-Stop for Multiple Engines This optional system for twin and triple installations automatically synchronises engines to allow a simple one-touch starting/stopping button capability.
Shift Dampener System Yamaha's Shift Dampener System (SDS) propellers greatly reduce the noise associated with shifting an engine in and out of gear by absorbing the forces generated when forward and reverse gears are engaged.
Variable Trolling Control Yamaha’s variable trolling control allows the skipper to precisely adjust the engine’s idling speed from 650 to 900 RPM in 50 RPM increments. The ability to finely tune the trolling speed allows fisherman to perfect their lure presentation when chasing different species of fish.
Integrated Hydraulic Steering Featuring the same streamlined look as the Electro-Hydraulic Steering model, these models combine conventional hydraulic helm and lines with a built-in hydraulic cylinder. Simple in design yet offering all the space-saving, premium benefits of integrated steering, this system offers a fresh look and smooth, precise non-powered control. As the hydraulic lines are connected directly to the fixed bracket and steering cylinder, there is none of the usual wear and tear that is seen on traditional hydraulic systems. Hydraulic helm and lines purchased separately.
TotalTilt™ with Tilt Limiter Available on Digital Electronic Control (DEC) models, Yamaha’s exclusive TotalTilt™ feature provides faster and easier engine tilting, by completely tilting the outboard up from any position with a simple double-push of the “UP” trim/tilt button, or fully tilting the outboard down (until trim ram contact) with a double-push of the “DOWN” trim/tilt button. This system also includes a built-in tilt limiter which automatically stops the engine tilt at a predetermined set point, to prevent engine contact with other objects.
Tilt Limiter Available on Mechanical Control (MEC) outboard models, the built-in tilt limiter function automatically stops the engine tilt at a predetermined set point, preventing the outboard cowling from hitting objects such as bait boards or other parts of the boat.
New Look Cowling The cowling has been completely redesigned for a more powerful, elegant and streamlined look.
2.8 Litre Four-Cylinder Engine The 16 valve, 2.8 litre, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) layout with its increased cylinder capacity and large valves, results in optimum valve actuation, resulting in improved valve timing, acceleration and overall running performance.
Mechanical or Digital Throttle Choose from a Mechanical Control (MEC) or Digital Electronic Control (DEC) 'drive-by-wire' throttle option. The DEC option offers a simple, smoother and more precise operating experience.
